Aspen Beauty Academy is seeking a professional, growth-minded Cosmetology Instructor to teach, coach, and mentor students as they prepare for Maryland State Board licensure and careers in the beauty industry.
This role is ideal for a licensed cosmetologist who communicates clearly, leads with confidence, is open to feedback, and brings a positive, respectful, drama-free, solution-focused attitude to the classroom and clinic floor.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach cosmetology theory and hands-on skills
- Supervise student salon services to ensure safety, sanitation, quality, and skill development
- Demonstrate techniques and coach students through practical skills
- Track student progress toward graduation and State Board readiness
- Administer written, practical, and State Board prep assessments
- Uphold academy policies, curriculum, sanitation procedures, and Maryland regulations
- Manage classroom and clinic responsibilities while keeping students engaged, accountable, and on track
Requirements:
- Active Maryland Cosmetology License
- 4 years of professional cosmetology experience
- Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills
- Professional, dependable, organized, and punctual
- Positive, drama-free, team-focused mindset
- Open to feedback with a willingness to learn and grow
- Ability to manage students, give clear feedback, and maintain accountability
- Ability to multitask while balancing instruction, clinic supervision, coaching, and documentation
Preferred:
Teaching, training, mentoring, or salon leadership experience.
Schedule:
Part-time, 2–3 days per week. Substitute hours available. No weekends.
