Electrical Technician – Data Centre Operations
Location: Vineland, New Jersey
About the Role:
My client is a leading provider of advanced data centre solutions, delivering bespoke infrastructure for high-demand customers. They are seeking an Electrical Technician to join their Vineland team and support operations at their 300MW data centre. This is a site-based role where you will gain hands-on experience with industrial-scale electrical systems while being mentored by senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of electrical systems within the data centre, including PDUs, UPS systems, generators, and switchgear.
- Support preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure reliable system performance.
- Work under the guidance of senior electrical engineers, learning to troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment.
- Collaborate with the site operations team to help resolve electrical issues and minimise service interruptions.
- Assist with the commissioning and decommissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
- Help maintain accurate logs and reports on electrical system performance.
- Follow established safety procedures and contribute to a culture of safety across the site.
Key Requirements:
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent experience in commercial or residential electrical work.
- Interest in learning industrial-scale electrical systems and data centre operations.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards.
- Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and take guidance from senior staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Willingness to work on-site at a large-scale facility.
- Certifications in electrical safety or trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
