Job Mission 

The GCP Cloud / DevOps Engineer will play a key role in supporting our existing infrastructure and accelerating its transition to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role will design, automate, secure and operate cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, tools and delivery pipelines. The mission is to improve the reliability, scalability, security and DevOps maturity of the Wilton software development infrastructure. 

Primary duties - Implementing architectural improvements in cloud infrastructure, SCM, build, test and deployment platforms. 

The role will work in a Development Operations Team (DevOps), architecting, implementing, operating and continuously improving state-of-the-art GCP cloud, build, continuous integration, development and test infrastructure. A successful candidate will provide secure, resilient platforms that enable software developers and test engineers to deliver products of the highest quality. Responsibilities include: 

Design, implement and operate GCP infrastructure and platform services, including networking, identity and access management, compute, storage, logging and monitoring. 

Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including modules, environment configuration, policy controls, code review, testing and automated deployment. 

Implement and operate GitOps-based delivery workflows using tools such as Argo CD, with Git as the source of truth for cloud and Kubernetes configuration. 

• Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Atlassian Bamboo or Jenkins, integrating automated quality, compliance and security checks. 

• Implement cloud security monitoring and threat detection capabilities, including centralized logging, alerting, vulnerability findings, incident triage and operational response. Apply least-privilege access, secrets management and security-by-design practices. 

• Use observability practices and tools to monitor platform availability, performance, capacity and cost; define actionable dashboards, alerts and operational runbooks. 

Partner with software, platform, security and infrastructure teams to migrate workloads to GCP and improve reliability, scalability and operational readiness. 

Champion Agile and DevOps ways of working, provide technical guidance and mentoring, and continuously improve automation, test frameworks and engineering standards. 

• Assist in the design and maintenance of robust and maintainable build and deployment plans  for a range of ASML scanner  products. 

• Be a champion and mentor for an “Agile” way of working. Display a willingness/ability to participate in a SCRUM team to continuously deliver improvements in all areas of Development Operations. 

• Assist in maintaining and improving Test automation frameworks and dashboards. 

Education 

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field; with a preference for degrees in Computer Science/Engineering or Physics. 

Experience 

The following experience is required: 

Hands-on experience designing, deploying and operating production workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 

Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including reusable modules, state management, review, testing and automated deployment practices. 

Hands-on experience with GitOps principles and tools such as Argo CD, preferably for Kubernetes-based platforms. 

Experience implementing security threat detection and monitoring for cloud environments, including centralized logging, alerting, vulnerability findings and incident triage. 

Strong understanding of cloud security, including IAM, least privilege, service accounts, network security, secrets management and policy controls. 

Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Atlassian Bamboo or Jenkins. 

Strong understanding of Git-based SCM, branching strategies, pull requests and code-owner/review practices. 

Strong Linux/UNIX and scripting skills using Bash, Python and/or Go. 

Experience with containers and Kubernetes; experience operating Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) is preferred. 

Experience with cloud observability, reliability and operations, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting and incident response. 

Experience with release engineering processes and the software development lifecycle. 

Experience integrating ticketing, documentation and knowledge-sharing systems such as Jira and Confluence is preferred. 

Experience with test automation frameworks and developer productivity tooling is a plus. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Context of the position 

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
