THE ROLE
The Observatory Ambassador Captain is a guest-focused role responsible for creating a memorable experience for visitors. This position ensures guests from New York City, the United States, and around the world enjoy a welcoming, engaging, and high-quality visit to the Observatory.
ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival in assigned areas
- Ensure the safety and security of guests while on tour or within designated areas
- Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive experience
- Retain and apply operational knowledge (e.g., Observatory layout, experience locations) to assist guests with accurate and helpful information
- Communicate clearly and effectively with guests, maintaining a confident and professional presence at all times
- Support operations by performing additional duties as assigned by management
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations; practice safe work habits; and complete all required safety training, including role-specific certifications
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time by leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma – or equivalent
- At least 1 years' guest service experience, preferably in the Hospitality Industry
- Basic knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to engage with guests in a fast-paced, interactive environment
- Demonstrated professionalism and exceptional customer service skills
- Strong ability to retain and accurately communicate historical and technical information.
- Multi-lingual or sign language proficiency preferred
- Energetic, outgoing, and proactive with an entrepreneurial spirit and creative approach to work
- Flexible availability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
COMPENSATION
$22.00/hour and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
