What are the responsibilities and job description for the Document Control Specialist position at ASL?
This position is a hybrid role located in Houston Texas.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Product Document Revision Control Professional. You will manage engineering and non-engineering documents, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain product drawings, specifications, procedures, and manufacturing instructions.
- Ensure documentation meets industry standards and company policies; perform regular audits.
- Administer document control systems and coordinate IT upgrades.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other teams on document updates.
- Train staff and support document-related queries.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- At least 5 years of document control experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and independent working skills.
- Knowledge of engineering documentation standards and basic engineering processes.
- Advanced MS Office, PDF editing software, and version control system proficiency.
- PDM software exp such as Teamcenter or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Document Control Certification.
- Experience in regulated industries, especially Hazardous Area Certification.
