Position Summary:
We are seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate Medical Assistant to serve as our office coordinator. You will play a dual role in both clinical support and administrative excellence. You’ll be the first point of contact for our patients—whether in person or over the phone—and a vital team member in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. Your ability to multi-task, communicate clearly, and provide outstanding service will help shape the patient experience and support the heart of our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Responsibilities:
Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out process
Answer phones and triage inquiries or schedule appointments accordingly
Verify insurance, collect membership fees, and assist with billing questions
Maintain front office organization and manage patient communications via phone/email/portal
Support marketing and community outreach efforts (occasional events or social media help)
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
Prepare exam rooms and assist clinicians with procedures
Record vitals and patient medical history accurately
Ensure proper documentation in the EMR
Maintain medical inventory and cleanliness of clinical spaces
Coordinate care plans and patient follow-ups under provider direction
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) required
2 years of experience in a clinical or front desk role in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and medical terminology
Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and professionalism at all times
Preferred Skills
Experience with Athenahealth
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to stay organized and multitask in a patient-centric environment
