Overview
RDNC is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Registered Dietitian to join our team in a hybrid clinical role, with 50% of work performed remotely. This position is ideal for a motivated dietitian seeking flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful involvement in patient care within an acute care environment.
This role begins as a minimum 3-month contract, with month-to-month extensions available based on performance and facility needs—offering stability with the added benefit of ongoing flexibility.
Schedule: 40 hours/week (50% remote)
Compensation: $40.00–$55.00 per hour (based on experience) benefits
Contract: Minimum 3-month contract with highly flexible month-to-month extensions
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk, following facility policies and clinical best practices
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans for patients with complex medical conditions
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families regarding acute disease management, discharge planning, and readmission prevention
- Collaborate proactively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, SLPs, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, CMS/TJC regulatory standards, and acute care nutrition guidelines
- Maintain timely, accurate electronic medical record documentation in a fast-paced environment
- Monitor clinical changes such as weight trends, labs, and hydration status, adjusting interventions accordingly
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, interdisciplinary rounds, and projects designed to enhance patient safety and nutrition care delivery
- Serve as a nutrition resource for hospital staff, contributing to education and professional development
- Perform additional duties within scope of practice as needed
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related accredited field
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Current/active state licensure (required)
- 1–3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting (required)
- Demonstrated ability to manage patients with diverse and complex medical conditions
- Proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition therapy
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and rapid decision-making abilities
- Familiarity with acute care workflows, EHR systems, and hospital regulatory standards
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to a dynamic environment
