Manage the maintenance of plant and equipment, to significantly improve plant performance and reliability through the management and coordination of all maintenance and engineering activities within a large scale, complex, defined area.

Purpose of Position
Manage the maintenance of plant and equipment, to significantly improve plant performance and reliability through the management and coordination of all maintenance and engineering activities within a large scale, complex, defined area.
Key Accountabilities
- Direct maintenance of plant buildings and coordinate requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery
- Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
- Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfilment of contract specifications
- Assist in managing, coordinating and controlling all aspects of engineering in order to meet agreed departmental objectives.
- Develop the maintenance strategy for a defined area in conjunction with the site engineer.
- Manage and control the maintenance strategy on a day-to-day basis, including routine, special and stop period maintenance, and develop and implement capital activities.
- Ensure COMAH, Health & Safety and Environmental standards and targets are met and maintained within defined company procedures and legislative requirements.
- Identify areas for engineering and financial improvement and enable their inception whilst maintaining an appropriate level of availability and reliability of equipment.
- Ensure the safe and effective introduction of new equipment, capital expenditure and process improvement technologies.
- Determine training requirements and prepare training plans.
- Prepare and manage engineering budgets, forecasts and plans.
- Deputize in an equivalent position as required
- Undertake any other reasonable task as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to demonstrate previous success in introducing risk based maintenance techniques into industrial/manufacturing organizations.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems, and a knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
- Engineering experience, with significant experience in risk-based maintenance engineering and man-management
- Considerable knowledge of manufacturing methods, policies and procedures
- Experience in manufacturing environment a plus
- Attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Strategic thinker with project management experience
- Knowledge of SAP a plus
- Knowledge and Experience with Process Control and in particular Delta V
- Process Safety Management experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
- Expert understanding of maintenance and engineering processes and strategies.
- 5 years experience in a process, technical or engineering discipline.
