- Pay range is between $65,000 to $79,500 annually. Can increase based on experience.
- ACRS pays 100% for employee only HMO/Virtual Plus medical benefits. Additional options are covered anywhere from 75% to 85%.

- Paid Time Off:

- Provides integrated and holistic services by independently conducting comprehensive screening and evaluation of individuals to determine treatment needs and making referrals to appropriate internal programs or external community-based services. Provides individual and group counseling to adults experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Serves as the primary case manager for an assigned caseload of up to 30 adults or more. Serves as the primary case manager for a complex caseload, ensuring coordination of services and continuity of care. Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized treatment plans in alignment with ASAM criteria, regularly reviewing and updating plans to reflect client progress. Provides coordinated services in compliance with relevant State, County, and City standards, including meeting expectations of the applicable systems, including mental health, substance use disorder, and/or problem gambling. Expected to meet program performance and/or productivity standards.
- Coordinates with multidisciplinary staff, courts, probation officers, families, and community organizations to ensure effective service delivery, client follow-up, and cross-system care coordination. Prepares progress reports and completion notices and provides them to the courts, probation departments, and referral sources as appropriate in a timely matter.
- Maintains and audits accurate clinical documentation in accordance with WAC 246-811 and agency policies, including progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, discharge summaries, and required reporting forms. Ensures strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Demonstrates advanced proficiency in utilizing the EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) to document, track, and manage client care. Completes all of the required documentation and reports relevant to public payors, such as Medicaid and other third party payors, such as private insurers, in a timely manner. Conducts urinalysis screenings in accordance with agency policy and documents results in the client record. Expected to meet program documentation standards.
- Performs program outreach in the community and participates in community educational programs on substance use disorder for the general public, professional and industrial groups. Explains program treatment, eligibility requirements, policies, and services to clients and others.
- Attends all agency, program, and team meetings, in-service trainings, and supervision. Participates in Program recommended training, meetings, consultations, and conferences. Provides consultation to other staff as a senior-level resource.
- Provides guidance to staff by assisting with clinical questions and other issues when the Manager/Supervisor is unavailable. Ensures coaching/guidance to staff adheres to contract requirements and agency policies. Provides supervisory coverage in the absence of the Supervisor. Directs personnel-related inquiries to HR. Supports with clinical supervision to Counselor Trainees (SUDPT) per WAC 246-811, including documentation review and sign-off, skill development, and orientation activities.
- Provides team backup for case coverage and group facilitation when staff are out of the office, both planned and unplanned. Assists with training of new staff and provides supervision of interns as assigned, ensuring adherence to agency policy and clinical standards.
- Provides outreach, engagement, and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services for older adults (ages 60 ) in collaboration with Aging and Disability Services (ADS) offices in Seattle and Renton, as well as in host agencies and community settings. This may include field-based work in client homes or community locations as required. Responsibilities include: delivering individual counseling; conducting outreach and intervention services; researching and developing resources related to geriatric SUD and mental health; participating in monthly ADS case staffing's to provide care planning and treatment recommendations; reviewing treatment plans with the psychiatrist as appropriate; providing training and expert consultation to ADS case managers on SUD and geriatric mental health issues; care coordination with medical service providers as needed, recognizing that this population often has chronic health conditions and frequent ER visits; and supporting client’s medication compliance as appropriate. Ensures timely and documented communication with ADS case managers regarding referrals, service initiation, significant client events, Individual Service Plans, and service termination, in accordance with agency and ADS protocols. May be assigned Washington Wellness Program (WWP) clients as part of caseload responsibilities.
- Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in social work or social/behavioral science with two (2) years’ of post-SUDP experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in social science with four (4) years’ of post-SUDP experience; OR
- Associate’s degree in social science with six (6) years’ of post-SUDP experience;
- Active Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP).
- May not have a history of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three years prior to employment as a SUDP and not display evidence of misuse of alcohol or other drug while a SUDP.
- Cultural Humility:
- Ability to provide effective and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural beliefs and practices.
- Fluency in Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander language preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to: work as a team member with professional and support staff; analyze and draw conclusions from case records; apply casework principles to individual situations; and exercise judgment and organize multiple tasks
- Advanced understanding of trauma-informed care principles and the ability to apply evidence-based practices in substance use disorder treatment to support client recovery.
- Proficiency in supervising Counselor Trainees in compliance with WAC 246-811 requirements, including direct oversight and documentation sign-off.
- Proficient in understanding contract requirements and agency policy/procedure. Completion of clinical supervision training is required upon becoming a Counselor III.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of substance use disorder and its cognitive, emotional, and behavioral impact.
- Ability to proficiently utilize ASAM, DSM-5, ICD-10 for diagnosis and treatment recommendation and planning.
- Proficiency with EPIC EHR for documenting, tracking, and managing client care.
- Technical Skills:
- Effective ability to navigate a computer. Competency in use of the Microsoft Office and other relevant software for word processing, calendaring, email, and data entry via Electronic Health Record. Efficiently research and perform various tasks via the internet.
- Additional Requirements:
- Staff are expected to use an agency vehicle for work-related travel whenever available. In the event a personal vehicle is used, it must be in safe, full working order and meet all agency requirements. If using personal or agency vehicle, this includes a valid current Driver’s license and must be insurable under the agency’s auto policy. If using personal vehicle, must have current auto insurance.
- If driving is required for assigned duties, employee must meet the qualifications to be an ACRS Approved Driver in accordance with agency policy.
