Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation.
Duties
- Prepare and present sushi dishes in accordance with restaurant standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
- Manage inventory levels of sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Assist line cooks as needed with cooking or prep
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and culinary techniques specific to sushi preparation.
- Familiarity with various types of fish, seafood, and other ingredients used in sushi making.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment related to sushi preparation.
- Previous experience in catering or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required.
