Position Overview
The Operations Manager leads all day-to-day operational functions of the company, including production, scheduling, installation coordination, and quality control. This role owns operational performance across labor efficiency, on-time delivery, project execution, and gross margin. Overseeing multiple departments, the Operations Manager drives process improvement, ensures accountability, and aligns operations with company growth goals. This key leadership role is critical to scaling the business while maintaining high-quality execution and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead production, scheduling, logistics, and quality control teams.
- Supervise department leaders, enforce accountability, and set KPIs.
- Drive alignment across Sales, Estimating, Design, Project Management, and Accounting to ensure commitments are met.
Production & Project Execution
- Own and drive on-time delivery performance across all projects (manufacturing and installation).
- Manage and optimize production scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
- Monitor backlog flow, production loading, and project timelines.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks impacting schedule, quality, or profitability.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Develop and implement standardized processes to improve efficiency and scalability across departments.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to enhance gross margin performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Estimating, Design, Project Management, and Accounting to ensure alignment between commitments and execution.
- Prepare and present regular operational performance reports with actionable recommendations.
- Participate in leadership planning, forecasting, and strategic growth initiatives.
Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of architectural signage operations, including design, estimating, project management, manufacturing, and installation.
- Experience in project-based manufacturing and installation environments.
- Proven ability to lead multiple departments or department managers.
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling, workflow management, and capacity planning.
- Understanding of job costing, labor tracking, and gross margin performance.
- Knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and standards related to signage and construction.
- Experience with ERP/CRM and scheduling systems (I2, Monday.com, or similar preferred).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and aggressive timelines.
- Effective decision-making and time management skills.
- Ability to motivate teams and drive accountability across departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years leadership experience in architectural/commercial signage or closely related fields (e.g., custom fabrication, millwork, specialty construction).
- Strong understanding of construction practices, sign products, and materials.
- Valid driver’s license required.

Physical & Working Requirements
