Position Summary

We are seeking a responsible and caring individual to support our After School Program. In this role, you will walk a group of 14 students (ages 5–12) from school to the program building and provide supervision three days per week between 3:00–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (with flexible scheduling available).

You will help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment by overseeing and facilitating activities such as outdoor play, snack time, reading/homework support, and free play. Your primary responsibility is to ensure students are safe, cared for, and engaged in a variety of positive experiences.

Duties/Expectations

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, families and fellow staff members to ensure a welcoming, caring atmosphere

- Interact and have fun with students while creating an engaging environment

- Maintain a collaborative relationship with other staff

- Promote a strong sense of community by role modeling and encouraging respectful, responsible and safe behaviors

- Maintain accurate records and student’s files in accordance with licensing requirements

- Provide daily snacks and assist with light cleaning tasks

- Maintain a high level of awareness to ensure student safety at all times

- Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and complete required documentation

- Participate in mandatory training as required by licensing (Intro to the Childcare Profession and Skills and Strategies for the Childcare Teacher Courses or demonstrate equivalent experience through college-level work)

Qualifications

- Must be responsible and dependable

- Must be at least 18 years of age

- A genuine enjoyment of working with school-aged children is essential

- Prior experience or volunteer work with school-aged children preferred

- High School diploma or equivalent preferred

- CPR certification, physical exam and background check required upon hire

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
