Position Overview: Works to meet the technical needs of the Ashton Woods and Starlight Homes employee population, under the supervision of the Director of Technology.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical support to employees throughout the company
- Evaluates employee needs, defines technical problems, and works with management to determine and implement solutions
- Performs ongoing activities to maintain and enhance overall system performance and effectiveness.
- Studies and projects resource requirements including software, services, equipment, and facilities, and makes recommendations to management
- Provide timely and effective technical support to employees regarding printers, laptops, workstations, and other hardware.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
- Assist with new computer configurations for new hires.
- Manage small office network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.
- Experience with Ubiquiti products is a plus.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure efficient and effective IT operations.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and developments.
- Document and maintain records of IT support requests and resolutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience as an IT support specialist.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows 11 operating system and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience preparing documentation on computer systems and applications for use by the Training department and company employees
- Exceptional ability to provide technical support and resolve queries.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Ability to determine IT needs and train end-users.
- Proficiency in IT helpdesk software, such as Freshservice.
- Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
- Requires experience administering cloud services and hosted solutions
- Requires experience with hardware including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Advanced knowledge of system security.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with Tanium and Crowdstrike a plus
