Position Overview
The Paralegal supports the Firm’s General Counsel with a focus on corporate and contract matters. This individual will manage the contract review and approval workflow, maintain entity and other legal filings, and provide day-to-day support to the General Counsel. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, sound judgment, and discretion are paramount.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review, redline, and summarize vendor, service provider, and other commercial agreements under attorney supervision, and manage the contract lifecycle from intake through execution and renewal.
- Maintain the firm’s contract management system, including tracking key terms, renewal dates, and obligations, and ensuring executed agreements are properly filed.
- Prepare first drafts of NDAs, amendments, engagement letters, and other routine agreements from firm templates.
- Coordinate signature processes (including e-signature platforms) and manage document workflows with internal and external parties.
- Assist with due diligence, regulatory and compliance-related filings and requests in coordination with the Compliance team.
- Assist with HR/Employment-related matters.
- Conduct legal and factual research and prepare summaries for attorney review.
- Support M&A and advisor-transition transaction work and due diligence, including document collection, review, organization, and data room management.
- Maintain legal department templates, playbooks, and files, and help improve legal operations processes.
- Perform other administrative duties supporting the General Counsel, including calendar management for key deadlines and obligations.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of paralegal experience, with an emphasis on corporate, contracts, or transactional work; in-house or financial services experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
- Experience with contract management and e-signature platforms (e.g., DocuSign) preferred.
- Familiarity with the wealth management, RIA, or broker-dealer industry is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Team player who collaborates well with leadership, compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong written communication and drafting skills.
Compensation
Base salary range: $75,000 – $95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Ashton Thomas also offers a competitive benefits package.
