Project Controller

Somerset, NJ (Hybrid after initial onsite ramp-up)

$110,000–$120,000 base bonus

15–20% travel

This is a hands-on, project-based finance role supporting large, complex industrial projects.

If your background is primarily corporate FP&A or enterprise reporting, this role will not be a fit.

We are looking for a Project Controller who will partner directly with Project Managers to protect margins, manage risk, and ensure financial discipline from proposal through completion.

What You’ll Do

• Own project cost, revenue, margin, and cash flow tracking
• Recalculate forecasts and analyze variances
• Review and control change orders
• Support month-end close, accruals, and financial accuracy
• Support invoicing and monitor receivables
• Maintain project milestones and budgets in SAP
• Identify financial risks and escalate when needed
• Support tendering and contract negotiations
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Sales, and Site teams
• Travel to project sites as required

Required Experience

• 5 years of project-based accounting or commercial project finance
• Construction, industrial, telecom, infrastructure, EPC, or capital project experience
• Direct experience reviewing change orders and managing cost-to-complete forecasts
• Experience partnering directly with Project Managers
• Strong Excel skills
• SAP experience
