What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Ashton Lewis Lumber Company Inc?
Essential Duties:
- Observes all safety requirements including wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair sawmill machinery and production equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Follow LOTO and all other mill safety protocols during maintenance activities.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Understanding of mechanical systems, tools and PPE
- Willingness/ability to learn on the job under supervision.
- Lumber experience a plus!
