Summary
The Director of Nursing is a Registered Nurse responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the delivery of high-quality patient care in assigned nursing areas. The Director oversees the clinical functions of all staff in the assigned areas. This role portrays qualities of flexibility, compatibility, good judgment, and critical thinking skills, as well as structure and consistency in management style. This position will encompass multiple responsibilities and is accountable for the overall care of the patient in coordination with all members of the healthcare team.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- RN – Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and licensed in the State of Ohio
- BSN or Bachelor’s in a health-related field, required
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Maintains good working relationships with other members of the medical and nursing staff
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal relationship skills, required
- Intermediate computer experience and experience with electronic medical records are required
Required Length and Type of Experience
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in nursing services
- Three (3) years supervisory management experience, required
Required Licensure or Certification
- Licensed and current registration as a professional Nurse in the State of Ohio
- BSN or Bachelor’s in a health-related field, required
- BCLS, required.
- Member of AORN and CNOR, preferred
