MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school education or equivalent. Manual dexterity and ability to follow directions and diagrams. Knowledge of clean equipment technique preferred. Must possess valid drivers license and meet ARMC insurability requirements.
- Strong technical understanding of enterprise networking, distributed computing (LAN administration and PC systems), and Intranet/Internet Technology. Creative thinking and excellent problem solving skills are required.
- Good Customer Service Skills.
- The ability to work flexible hours and schedules.
- Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Time Management & Proper Follow-Up Skills.
- Base knowledge of current operating systems and software suites such as Microsoft Office.

Required Length and Type of Experience

Minimum three (3) years of Biomedical maintenance experience. Related record keeping experience preferred.

Required Licensure or Certification

Associates degree with emphasis in Biomedical maintenance or electronics preferred.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands
-
All employees are required to know and demonstrate competency in all OSHA requirements for the position such as use of personal protective equipment, safety equipment, and procedures, and handling of hazardous materials, etc. Must be able to walk or stand almost continuously during shift, lift and carry boxes and equipment (75 pounds or less), and push wheeled equipment through carpeted hallways. All employees are required to be aware of all MSDS considerations for this position which identifies all items in their particular area, as well as the location of the MSDS manual. All employees will be educated regarding Bloodbourne Pathogen Exposure Category I-Employees whose routine and/or daily duties, tasks, or procedures always expose them to blood and other potentially infectious materials.

GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The Biomed Tech performs equipment disinfection, assembly, and testing. Makes rounds to assure proper stock and function of equipment and supplies. Orders parts and accessories for medical equipment. Maintains records of equipment repair and maintenance. Maintains communication between nursing as a part of the health care delivery team. Participates in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities and interdisciplinary teams as appropriate.
