JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises the daily work assignments of Nursing Assistants.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of state accredited school of licensed practical nursing
- Completion of state approved pharmacology program
- A current Ohio license as a practical nurse
- Physical strength to turn and lift bed-ridden residents
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures; practical nursing and patient care skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form; carry out instructions in written and oral form; maintain accurate and legible records; perform required nursing care functions; demonstrate strength to lift and turn critically ill patients; and maintain good working relationship with supervisors and co-workers
- Skills in nursing techniques and patient care
