Child Welfare Visitation Case aide

Immediate Supervisor: Child Welfare Supervisor
Pay grade/Rate of Pay Grade 4: $17.832 per hour with consideration based on experience.

Work hours: 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday*

Ashtabula County Children Services is currently accepting applications for full-time Visitation Aide position. Must have good driving record and pass a drug screen.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision of the Child Welfare Supervisor, the Visitation Aide will:

· Transports children to and/or from off-grounds agency supervised visitation. Documents parent/child interaction during supervised visits in SACWIS. Prepares for and testifies in court hearings as needed. Contacts parents to remind them of visits and planned activities.

· Observes parent/child interaction during agency supervised visits at a variety of locations (Rooms-to-Grow, family homes, other agreed upon locations) as directed by parent’s visitation plan; provides guidance and information to parents regarding child development and parenting practices during supervised visitation; assist parents in planning activities for each visit, ensures parents have been given visitation letter stating the rules for agency supervised visitation. Maintains Rooms-to-Grow in a safe and sanitary environment for family visitation. Reports any building concerns to the Finance Director and/or maintenance personnel.

· Participates in in-service trainings and all required trainings, and maintains all required licensures and certifications.

· Scans case information into the digital imaging system for Child Welfare.

· Meets job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential

functions.

· Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

· Responds to public inquiries and provides routine general information in a courteous and friendly manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate’s degree in Human Services or a closely related field, preferred or any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Be self-motivated and able to handle a schedule of conflicting demands
• Be able to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
• Be able to work effectively in a team environment
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver's license and maintain insurability under the County’s vehicle insurance policy. Must be able to successfully pass post-offer drug screen, physical and BCI fingerprint background check.
