Position Summary:
A Multi-Spindle Screw Machine Operator sets up, operates, and maintains multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision metal or plastic components according to specifications. This role ensures high-quality production, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate multi-spindle screw machines (e.g., Davenport, Acme Gridley)
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
- Select and install tooling, attachments, and machine accessories
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain tolerances
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines
- Ensure production meets quality standards and deadlines
- Document production data and report any defects or issues
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (technical training helpful)
- Experience with multi-spindle screw machines (typically 1–3 years)
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials
- Attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 25–50 lbs
- Perform repetitive motions and manual tasks
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/industrial setting
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal shavings
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
Typical Schedule:
- Full-time; may include overtime.
Pay: $19.00 - $36.00 per hour
