In this role, you will provide prompt, safe, and courteous transportation services on an as-needed basis, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs for a variety of clients and destinations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles including shuttle buses, limousines, delivery vans, and paratransit vehicles to transport passengers or goods.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting passengers professionally and ensuring their comfort during transit.
- Assist with heavy lifting when loading or unloading cargo or luggage, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or injury.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with all regulations.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers and clients regarding schedules, delays, or route changes using effective communication skills.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to maintain safety standards at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle condition for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, shuttle driver, bus driver, or in a similar commercial driving role.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for bus or heavy vehicle operation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with passengers and team members.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance tasks such as basic troubleshooting and routine inspections.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when required.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations related to commercial driving.
- Prior experience driving limousines or school buses is advantageous but not mandatory.
