We’re growing fast and are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Manager to help lead our team and keep tails wagging!
Position Overview
The Assistant Manager will play a key role in daily operations, team leadership, and client relations. This is a hands-on role that combines office management with fieldwork—perfect for someone who can juggle multiple priorities while keeping a positive, team-focused mindset.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage staff schedules
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients via phone, text, email, and in person
- Lead, motivate, and support a growing pet care team
- Monitor and maintain service quality and attention to detail
- Cover dog walks, pet visits, and daycare shifts when needed (including last-minute requests or call-ins)
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to grow clientele
- Manage and create engaging social media content
- Assist in planning events, promotions, and outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve quickly
- Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Reliable transportation and smartphone with data plan
- Previous management, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred
- Pet care experience required
Compensation & Schedule
- Training Period: $17/hr for approximately 2 weeks while shadowing and learning company operations
- Transition to Salary: $600/week after mastering key expectations, including:
- Full understanding of services offered & pricing
- Knowledge of current client list
- Proficiency in scheduling, hiring, and marketing strategies
- Flexible schedule, with some evenings/weekends required for coverage or events
