What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant and Toddler Teacher position at Ashley's House Learning Center?
Ashley's House Learning Center is currently seeking motivated individuals for full time employment. We are looking for an individual with a minimum of 6 months experience in a licensed childcare facility. All applicants MUST be able to pass a state and federal background check.
We are currently seeking a teacher to work with our infant and toddlers. Pay depends on experience and education.
Typical duties of an Infant and one-year old teacher:
While the activities vary, toddler teachers focus primarily on teaching children to share, express themselves, communicate, and collaborate well with others, follow their curiosity, and further their language and vocabulary development.
Other day-to-day duties can include:
- Have a High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Willingness to meet CPR/Current First Aid and other regulatory requirement
- Demonstrate an attitude of support and encouragement
- Must be willing to abide with all current Ashley’s House standards and expectations as well as KDHE regulations
- Teaching basic skills such as color, shape, numbers, and letter recognition
- Carrying out a pre-planned curriculum
- Helping children develop positive self-images and experience success
- Encouraging the exploration of interests and developmental social skills
- Following schedules and routines that ensure physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Teaching children how to play fairly with others
- Providing positive reinforcement and redirection
- Observing, assessing, and documenting each assigned child’s health, skills, behavior, growth, and development
- Communicating with parents on a daily basis
- Providing leadership and guidance to other staff and colleagues
- Creating and leading a supportive, nurturing learning environment that encourages responsibility and motivation

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
