GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Dietary Manager oversees and supervises all dietary functions in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure residents of our assisted living community receive the highest quality services that meet resident needs and abilities, Renaissance CDA policies and procedures, and Idaho State regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure compliance with Renaissance and state policies and procedures regarding food preparation, serving and dining at the facility.
• Plans, organizes, supervises, and controls the work flow to ensure efficient dietary operations
• Ensure high standards of sanitation, safety, and operations/care of dietary equipment
• Plan and switch up menus on a regular basis while ensuring that all contents delivered match the content and quantities on each order
• Monitor and teach food texture types, how to achieve textures, and diet types.
• Develop a team of cooks and servers to provide quality meals to residents
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and performance management of kitchen staff.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
• Manages the budget related to all dietary needs
• Other duties as assigned by management
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required. An Associate's Degree or higher in food service management or a related field
• 1 or more years in a leadership role preferred
• Certified Dietary Manager Certification preferred. Must obtain upon hire.
• 1 or more years working in a long-term care facility is preferred
• Must be able to effectively use and troubleshoot basic computer problems
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Must have valid driver’s license, meet requirements of criminal background check, and be able to pass a drug test
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• This position is very active and requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, grasping, and carrying.
• The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 35 pounds and occasionally objects up to 80 pounds.
