Summary: The Manufacturing Supply Chain Planner will utilize the Supply Chain Management System to create and manage the release of manufacturing plans that are achievable and realistic while minimizing excess work-in-process inventory and enabling final assembly schedules to be executed at or above completion goals. This role requires balancing production processes, labor availability, and material constraints to optimize throughput and maintain schedule integrity across assigned planning areas.
Responsibilities:

Utilize the Manufacturing Supply Chain Solution (through-put system) daily to analyze order recommendations and determine which manufacturing orders should be released to the production floor

Maintain all assigned planning area schedules to meet final assembly requirements as scheduled while keeping work-in-process (WIP) inventory at minimum levels necessary to complete production objectives

Interact frequently with shop floor planners to ensure correct schedules are executed as planned; investigate root causes of scheduling issues and make decisions, provide recommendations for solutions, or escalate when necessary

Maintain effective communication with internal customers and management regarding planning discrepancies, research inaccuracies, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend changes to resolve issues based on findings

Manage and maintain critical planning parameters including manufacturing lead-times, order minimums, order maximums, safety stock levels, shrinkage factors, and other variables that impact plan effectiveness; communicate concerns to management

Collaborate closely with all functional areas of the company including procurement, production, quality, and logistics to achieve profit and growth objectives through aligned planning strategies

Maintain system integrity by reviewing critical system tables for obsolete data, monitoring system performance, and alerting management to deviations from standard metrics

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred

2-4 years of experience in manufacturing planning, production scheduling, or supply chain planning in a manufacturing environment

Proficiency with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems, ERP platforms, and Supply Chain Management software

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop data-driven solutions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organization

Understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, work-in-process inventory management, and final assembly operations

Knowledge of planning parameters including lead times, safety stock calculations, order quantities, and shrinkage factors

Ability to manage multiple planning areas simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and schedule accuracy

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools

Flexible schedule with willingness to work extended hours when necessary to support production needs

APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus
Work Environment:
This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
