At Ashley Furniture, we turn bold ideas into beautifully built products. As our Manufacturing Operations Planning and Inventory Optimization Manager, you’ll architect and execute multi-plant schedules, align resources, and unlock capacity using APS-driven insights.
Your impact- Build and sustain the end-to-end manufacturing plan for multiple facilities using a Supply Chain Management scheduling system.
- Approve master schedule sequences for assembly after validating machining, labor, and material constraints.
- Keep the shop floor on track—re-sequence orders and tune queue/move/lead times to lift throughput.
- Guide weekly CRP reviews to resolve near-term work-center bottlenecks; lead monthly Load-to-Capacity analysis to anticipate long-term constraints and recommend overtime where appropriate.
- Convert quarterly sales and operations forecasts (including new product launches) into APS Load-to-Capacity views across casegoods, upholstery, and bedding.
- Standardize planning practices across sites by partnering with P & IC Managers to speed material flow.
- Measure plan performance by facility and iterate Advanced Scheduling Systems (throughput) models with planners and P & IC teams.
- Coach the Manufacturing Supply Chain Planner and upskill teams in MRP, MAPICS XA, APICS CPIM/CSCP.
- Advance systems and processes with IT collaboration, and own annual budgeting for equipment and personnel.
- Align closely with cross-functional leaders to achieve profit and growth goals while modeling our Core and Growth Values.
- 6 years of Manufacturing Supply Chain Management experience (required)
- APICS CPIM (required or obtained within 3 years); APICS CSCP preferred or equivalent background
- Expertise in modern production and inventory control techniques
- Experience with APS tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of product engineering fundamentals
- Command of BOMs, item types, routings, and standards
- Continuous Improvement acumen
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internet tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent experience
