As Ashley’s Distribution Center Product Technician, you decide the smartest path forward — a minor surface blend, a corner rebuild, a parts swap, or a full upholstery mechanism replacement — and return each piece to like-new condition while following our standard operating procedures.

• Restore case goods and tables with precise minor surface repairs.
• Deliver solid color paper/side refinishes that match factory quality.
• Rebuild small corner damages with strong, clean results.
• Set up and use a spray booth confidently and safely.
• Tackle advance replacement part repairs to keep products moving.
• Communicate tool/part/hardware maintenance needs and keep a tidy, efficient shop.
• Inspect damaged products and determine if they can be repaired to like-new condition.
• Share touch-up techniques with warehouse personnel during inspections.
• Document trends in reoccurring damages and act on them.
• Notify the Guest Response Team and DC Manager when specific items show repeated issues.
• Complete upholstery repair, including mechanism replacement on motion furniture.
• Assist fellow technicians and be a strong team player.
• Report accurately when a repair is not feasible.
• Assess each damage to determine the most efficient repair method.
• Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods/materials in the warehouse.

• High School Diploma.
• At least 1 year of practical furniture repair experience across upholstery, leather, and wood refinishing.
• Strong communicator; comfortable collaborating across teams.
• Self-managed with excellent time organization.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and the ability to learn in-house software.
• Valid Driver’s License.

• Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus to read reports and view computer screens.
• Hear and understand speech; communicate clearly so others understand you.
• Capable of extended periods of sitting.
• Perform repetitive tasks with both hands (keyboarding, handwriting, office/POS, handheld equipment).
• Stand and move about on foot for extended periods.
• Bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach at or above shoulder height.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds solo; more with assistance.
• Work primarily in a warehouse; occasionally at new retail locations under construction.
• Potential exposure to oil, latex, spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors, and household dusts; moderate office noise.
• Follow safe work practices; perform other duties as assigned.
