About the Role

AshleyFurniture.com (Ashcomm) is rapidly expanding its third-party marketplace business and is building a dedicated China-based supplier sourcing and vendor development team to support long-term growth.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sourcing Manager, Ashcomm China Suppliers to lead our Shenzhen marketplace sourcing team and serve as the primary owner for supplier strategy, vendor pipeline development, supplier qualification, onboarding coordination, relationship management, and operational execution for China-based suppliers.

This role will work closely with U.S.-based Vendor Management, Merchandising, Operations, Technology, Product Content, Compliance, and Finance teams to identify high-quality supplier partners and accelerate new product launches on the Ashley marketplace platform.

The ideal candidate combines strategic sourcing capability with strong execution skills and has deep experience working with manufacturers, exporters, or marketplace sellers serving the U.S. e-commerce market.

What You'll Do

Supplier Strategy & Vendor Pipeline Development

• Build and manage a pipeline of China-based suppliers with proven success on major U.S. e-commerce marketplaces.
• Evaluate suppliers based on assortment needs, pricing competitiveness, margin opportunities, operational readiness, fulfillment capabilities, and long-term growth potential.
• Identify and prioritize suppliers aligned with Ashley marketplace category expansion strategies.

Market Intelligence & Business Development

• Partner with Vendor Management and Merchandising teams to identify assortment gaps and marketplace opportunities.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and supplier capabilities to support strategic category growth.
• Develop target supplier lists and sourcing strategies for priority categories.

Vendor Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary relationship owner for prospective and newly onboarded China suppliers.
• Build strong partnerships with supplier leadership, sales teams, operations teams, and catalog teams.
• Manage escalations and ensure effective communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Supplier Evaluation & Recommendations

• Prepare supplier profiles, business cases, product opportunity assessments, and recommendation materials.
• Support internal decision-making regarding vendor fit, product readiness, quality expectations, and commercial opportunities.
• Provide clear recommendations based on financial, operational, and strategic considerations.

Vendor Onboarding Management

• Drive supplier onboarding activities, documentation collection, progress tracking, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate onboarding milestones with cross-functional teams including Vendor Management, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and Finance.
• Ensure suppliers fully understand marketplace requirements and launch expectations.

Commercial & Operational Readiness

• Support pricing discussions, margin analysis, fulfillment readiness, catalog setup, compliance requirements, and launch preparation.
• Monitor onboarding progress and proactively remove blockers impacting launch timelines.

Business Performance Management

• Manage vendor pipelines, onboarding trackers, issue logs, and leadership reporting.
• Track KPIs including:
• Qualified suppliers identified
• Approved vendors and product count
• Onboarding cycle time
• Catalog completion rate
• Compliance completion rate
• Issue resolution speed

Team Leadership

• Lead the Shenzhen marketplace sourcing team and provide direction, coaching, and prioritization support.
• Establish execution cadence and ensure alignment with business objectives and launch priorities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as the primary China-side partner for U.S.-based Vendor Management, Merchandising, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Finance teams.
• Translate local supplier insights and execution realities into actionable recommendations and solutions.

What You'll Bring

• 7–10 years of experience in sourcing, vendor management, category management, merchandising, marketplace business development, retail buying, supplier development, or related fields.
• Experience sourcing, negotiating with, or managing China-based manufacturers, exporters, or marketplace sellers.
• Demonstrated success building supplier pipelines and converting business priorities into qualified vendor recommendations.
• Strong understanding of U.S. e-commerce marketplace dynamics and third-party marketplace operations.
• Experience working cross-functionally with merchandising, operations, catalog, product content, compliance, finance, and technology teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess assortment opportunities, pricing structures, operational readiness, and launch risks.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Strong vendor-facing communication and relationship management capabilities.
• Experience leading teams or influencing cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Merchandising, Marketing, Information Systems, or related fields preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
