What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Representative - Military and Veteran Services position at Ashland University?

Job Description
The Ashland University Military and Veteran Resource Center is seeking an Admissions Representative. The Admissions Representative will be trained to provide assistance to prospective transfer, graduate, and military-connected students specifically to accommodate the specialized needs of these populations. They will work our slate funnels exactly the same way that our in-house Military and Veteran Services recruiters do and work to enroll students by liaising between the prospects and appropriate campus departments via our office staff on the Ashland, OH main campus. This position will also establish relationships with the local military and veteran organizations (Amvets, American Legion, VFW, etc.) and strengthen their affinity with Ashland University by providing resources and materials as well as helping capture advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the job description, the Admissions Representative will focus on recruiting military-connected students particularly inclined to non-traditional pathways to degree-seeking programs by deploying vocational rehabilitation and rapid retraining strategies with a specific focus on micro-credentialing, licenses and certificates. This position will help the department achieve its goal to capitalize on opportunities to synthesize recruitment capacities with the AU Career Center for Life Calling (CCLC) and corporate partnership programs by providing career coaching, advising and planning as part of the enrollment process, thereby maximizing our reach and matriculating students who may have not otherwise enrolled due to the specific obstacles and scenarios intrinsic in their military-connected status. In short, we’ll provide targeted guidance to students who would otherwise drop out of the enrollment process or not consider Ashland University as a viable option for career advancement or further education. These functions will also help the department accelerate our ramp up efforts as we undertake a rapid operational expansion as well as provide a boon for our partners in CCLC and corporate partners with the funding provided by gifts from pre-disclosed sources.
