The Mindess School is seeking a Grade 4 Long-Term Substitute School Counselor for the 2025–2026 academic year. Anticipated start date is February 5, 2026 with the assignment concluding around May 4, 2026. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide individual and small-group counseling
- Facilitate weekly SEL lessons in fourth grade classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student social-emotional growth
- Assist with crisis intervention and student support plans as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with school staff and families
- Participate in student support meetings and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Degree in counseling or related field preferred
- DESE licensure as a School Counselor preferred
- Ability to build rapport with students and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Flexibility, reliability, and a collaborative mindset
