Early Childhood Specialist / Ashland Regional Training Center (RTC)

POSITION TITLE:

Early Childhood Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Shall hold a bachelor's degree or higher and an IECE (or equivalent) or Special Education Certification.

2. Shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, peers, and adults.

3. Shall demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, peers, and adults.

4. Shall demonstrate knowledge and experience in Pyramid Model (PBIS), Evidence Based Practices, Early Childhood Standards, Developmentally Appropriate Practice for Preschool, Kentucky Preschool Regulations, DEC Recommended Practices.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Regional Training Center

JOB GOAL:

To assist preschool coordinators in the Ashland RTC service regions in program design, development, and compliance. To support preschool teachers in Ashland RTC service region in providing quality early childhood education, through technical assistance and training on any/all early childhood topics.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Shall have the ability to sit, lift, stoop, push, pull, any and all body movements as related to the job description. Shall have the ability to travel to Ashland Regional Training Center service regions.

DUTIES:

1. Demonstrates professionalism.

2. Demonstrates program management, research, and evaluation skills.

3. Provides consultation/collaboration/coordination.

4. Demonstrates professional leadership.

5. Demonstrates implementation of technology in teaching and learning.

6. Acts in accordance with the by-laws and policies as set forth by the school/council/Ashland Independent Board of Education, Kentucky Revised Statutes.

7. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director in accordance with the best interest of the work.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year to be established by the board of education per the district's Certified Salary Schedule for a 230-day contract.

SALARY:

Performance of this position will be conducted in accordance with the board

policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel. Evaluation of the Early Childhood Specialist will be conducted by the Director of the Regional Training Center.
