About AHAAAHAA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps build arts education and creative kids, in partnership with K-12 public schools in and around Ashland, Oregon. The organization was started in 1991 by parents as an arts booster club at Ashland High School. Since then, its mission and services have greatly expanded. AHAA's mission is to support and build equity in K-12 arts education throughout a 100-square-mile rural region in Southern Oregon, centered around Ashland. Through partnerships with personal, corporate, and institutional donors, as well as its annual Winter Fine Arts Festival, AHAA raises funds to support extracurricular and enriched arts programs, teachers, and students in public schools and the greater community.
Position SummaryAHAA seeks a highly organized, community-oriented professional to serve as Executive Director. This part-time leadership role focuses primarily on grant writing, administrative coordination, light fundraising, organization marketing, and board support. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors, foundations, and community partners to advance AHAA’s mission and steward donor relationships.

Core ResponsibilitiesGrant Development & Funding
- Research, write, and submit grant applications
- Manage grant timelines and reporting requirements
- Identify new funding opportunities
Board & Governance Support
- Process grant requests for board review and voting
- Prepare materials for and attend monthly board meetings (approximately 1 hour/month)
- Provide regular updates on grants, partnerships, and administrative matters
Community & Partner Engagement
- Respond to organizational email inquiries (low volume)
- Send thank-you communications to donors and partners
- Represent AHAA at select community events (3–4 annually)
- Visit schools on behalf of AHAA as needed (3–4 times annually)
- Weekly social media posts
Administrative Oversight
- Maintain organized records of grants, communications, and board decisions
- Support general nonprofit compliance and documentation needs
- Experience in grant writing (preferred)
- Strong written communication skills
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with the Ashland community and/or arts education (preferred)
- Experience supporting nonprofit boards is a plus
- Comfortable representing AHAA and speaking in public occasionally
- Fractional, part-time role (estimated hours to be defined collaboratively)
- 8 hours/week average, but ebbs and flows
- Flexible schedule
- Compensation commensurate with experience
- At least a 3-year commitment to serve in this role, ideally
