What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front End Assistant position at Ashland Food Co-Op?
Job Summary: To work as part of the Front End Team to cashier, clean, assist customers, assist Grocery and Owner Services to ensure that customers are offered pleasant and friendly service.
- Cashier for our shoppers in accordance with policies, procedures and guidelines detailed in the Front End Department Manual.
- Working cleaning shifts as assigned.
- Work parking lot or bagging shift as assigned.
- Perform stocking tasks as needed.
- Perform fronting and cleaning tasks as needed.
- Perform recycling duties as needed.
- Work 10 hour shifts if assigned.
- Work as alternate at the information desk if assigned.
- Assist with Owner Services' clerical work if assigned.
- Be scheduled for call-in commitments as needed.
Customer Experience:
- Greet and interact with customers in a friendly way that shows you appreciate their patronage.
- Ensure that customers are attended to with a high level of service and professionalism.
- Offer help without being asked and be alert to the customer's needs.
- Be familiar with Co-op policies and products in order to answer customer questions in a prompt and courteous manner, referring them to other staff when necessary.
- Communicate customer feedback and any other important information to buyers or managers as appropriate.
