Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Patient Coordinator to join the team at our thriving dental office. You will be working alongside our Lead Patient Coordinator, and our Insurance Coordinator. You will greet patients as they arrive, book appointments, answer phone calls, and collect payment information. You will also be involved with verifying dental insurance, sending and processing insurance claims. The ideal candidate has a cheerful disposition, excellent communication, and computer skills, and is capable of multitasking.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they arrive and provide an excellent customer experience
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
- Assist with insurance verification, updating insurance breakdown forms, and adding these details to patient accounts
- Assist patients with paperwork, including consent forms and updating medical histories
- Present treatment plans and process payments
- Follow up with patients who have outstanding treatment/appointment needs
- Documenting important conversations in patient's charts
- Provide general customer service and attend to the needs of customers throughout their services
- Additionally, you will be working closely with our Insurance Coordinator (IC) that will be transitioning to a remote position.
- You will be asked to scan explanation of benefits (EOBs) into a network folder, assist with the submission of secondary insurance claims and mailing off anything the IC cannot do physically for security purposes.
- You will be also be asked to assist with following up on outstanding claims.
- Maintain a clean and inviting environment (including lobby tidiness, bathroom tidiness; watering office plants)
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience as a dental receptionist or any other dental position
- Excellent communication skills with a commitment to customer service
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Familiar with computers and scheduling software
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Experience with Open Dental is a huge plus, but not required
Salary : $16 - $24
