Responsibilities
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly.
Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product information or demos to enhance their shopping experience.
Handle cash, credit, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing registers at shift end.
Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service.
Maintain store merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented and accessible.
Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
Support inventory management through stock replenishment and product demos to showcase new items effectively.
Supervise or assist in training new team members in cashiering procedures and customer service best practices when applicable.
Requirements

Prior experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales is highly preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently.
Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities that support team collaboration.
Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking, and retail math for accurate cash.
Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts.
