Surgery Scheduler Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating surgical appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling, and maintaining accurate patient records. This position requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in medical office procedures, and the ability to navigate various software systems.
Duties
- Schedules all surgical procedures at the appropriate facility, including pre-op & post-op appointments as well as reviewing all instructions with patient
- Prepares consents and financial forms for patient's signature for specific surgical procedures
- Counsels patients in person and over the telephone regarding surgery, expected costs, insurance and payment
- Obtains all required consents, documentation, approval and prior authorization/insurance information for surgery
- Submitting surgical procedure, orders, medications, post-op instructions via EMR to surgical facility
- Demonstrates good customer service and organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills. Maintains positive team oriented attitude with attention to details.
