Asheville is seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Boys Golf Coach to lead and develop our high school golf program. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, competitive, and inclusive environment while promoting athletic and personal growth among student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, and implement a comprehensive golf program that aligns with the school’s athletic mission.
- Instruct athletes in the fundamentals, techniques, and strategies of golf.
- Plan and lead practices, conditioning programs, and skill development sessions.
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and academic achievement among student-athletes.
- Oversee coaching staff, assistant coaches, and volunteers within the program.
- Manage team selection, competition lineups, and in-season adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to all school, district, and state athletic association rules and policies.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Organize and participate in fundraising, community outreach, and program-building activities.
- Maintain and inventory golf equipment and uniforms.
- Advocate for and support the growth of boys golf within the school and community.
- Prior coaching experience in golf, preferably at the high school level.
- Knowledge of golf techniques, training methods, and safety protocols.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
- CPR/First Aid and coaching certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Compliance with all background checks and school district requirements.
- Experience coaching golf.
- Teaching certification (if applying for a faculty position).
