The Role

We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team in Napa, CA. This is a hands-on leadership position supporting daily kitchen operations, execution of seasonal menus, and the ongoing development of a refined food program designed to complement our wines and guest experience.


You will work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to deliver consistent, high-quality service in a fast-paced but detail-driven environment.


This role requires someone who leads from the kitchen floor - calm under pressure, highly organized, and committed to both craft and team culture.


What You'll Do:

  • Support daily kitchen operations and service execution at a high standard of consistency and quality
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety
  • Assist in menu development with a focus on seasonality and wine pairing
  • Manage prep systems, ordering, and inventory coordination
  • Ensure the kitchen is fully prepared for peak service periods and weekend operations
  • Lead by example in pacing, communication, and professionalism during service
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented kitchen culture


What We're Looking For:

  • Strong culinary background in high-end or fast-paced kitchens
  • Proven experience in kitchen operations, prep systems, and service execution
  • Solid understanding of food safety standards and kitchen organization
  • Ability to contribute to menu development and seasonal planning
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on mentorship and team development
  • Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Calm, focused presence during high-pressure service
  • High level of reliability, consistency, and personal accountability
  • Collaborative mindset—low ego, team-first approach
  • Interest or experience in wine and food pairing is a plus
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
