What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Development Manager position at Asher Agency?
This job is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is NOT a remote position.
The Account Development Manager is responsible for account supervisor duties with additional focuses on special projects for the agency, including proactively pursuing new business. The Account Development Manager reports to the VP, Director of Account Service and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
• Duties of Account Development Manager as it pertains to existing clients include:
o Maintain productive, positive, and stable client relationships, nurturing the growth and profitability of each account assigned.
o Serve as an effective liaison between the client and the agency’s media, creative, and web staff.
o Coordinate with clients and agency staff to develop marketing, advertising, and public relations strategies.
o Develop project budgets and timelines to ensure client work is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
o Manage deadlines, create client reports, and prepare presentations to ensure continued progress of client workflow.
o Review all client creative work, media plans, and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy on each project.
o Arrange and attend meetings.
o Present and advocate agency work to client decision makers.
o Monitor client invoicing and accounts receivable to ensure client profitability.
o Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of each client’s business, industry sector, and competitive landscape.
o Handle paperwork and administrative tasks such as opening jobs, work orders, creative briefs, and other processes required to move client work through the agency.
• Collaborative duties with leadership on Business Development goals include:
o Serve as the agency’s local market ambassador by building strong community relationships, actively networking and helping to expand client business.
o Identification, outreach, and setup of introductory calls with potential new business opportunities with a goal of at least five intro calls annually.
o
Collaboration with Asher business development team for education prior to the initial meeting and leadership of preparing materials for the initial meeting.
o Follow up post-meeting to secure the target as a new client.
o Additional strategic support on new business opportunities, which could include pitching clients, HubSpot support, Asher marketing materials, etc.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills:
• Strong understanding of the agency and account service role in managing and growing existing clients as well as gaining and onboarding new clients.
• Seven to ten years working experience.
• BA/BS degree preferred.
• Detail-oriented, problem solver.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to provide effective support to many client accounts.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Team player who collaborates well with others.
• Experience with Trello, Slack, and Microsoft 365 a plus.
