Formerly known as the Asheboro Copperheads, the ZooKeepers aim to continue the tradition of excellent baseball and family fun entertainment. Job Summary
The Assistant General Manager will be an important member of the ZooKeepers Front Office. The main focus of the position will be to oversee food and beverage, host family acquisitions and placement, post-game meal scheduling, while assisting the general manager with acquiring staffing, interns, and other duties as needed.
Essential Functions
- Communicate thoroughly with the General Manager to complete responsibilities and task as given.
- Attend all ZooKeeper home games and monitor staffing, merchandise, and concessions.
- Promote and sell all types of group and picnic options to organizations and individuals.
- Meet and greet season ticket, ticket package, groups, and individual ticket holders during ballgames.
- Attend organization appearances in the community as needed.
- Oversee host families and the placement of players with each host family.
- Recruit and hire outstanding interns and game day staffing to fill all available positions.
- Maintain strong and positive relationships with full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff.
- Conduct performance reviews with each intern.
- Willingness to meet with businesses to promote sponsorships and partnership opportunities at the ballpark.
- Sales focus: assist with group sales, season tickets, ticket packages, business memberships, some sponsorships.
Requirements:
- Experience working within sports and stadium operations.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and requests.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Solve problems and display critical thinking skills.
- Due to the nature of the industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
- Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period of time and must be able to lift 30 lbs.
