Position Overview
The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive cardiopulmonary care to patients across the lifespan—from neonates to geriatrics—within both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role is essential in supporting high-quality patient outcomes through clinical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer oxygen, aerosol, and ventilator therapies in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and respiratory assessments
- Assist with advanced airway management, including intubation and extubation procedures
- Respond to emergency situations as part of the clinical response team
- Provide respiratory support during C-sections and neonatal resuscitation when needed
- Conduct diagnostic testing, including EKGs and pulmonary function testing (spirometry)
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment use
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and hospital standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Credential: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Licensure: Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in North Carolina
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required within 6 months of hire
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of respiratory care experience preferred
