Experienced Lawn Care Technician – Future Team Lead Opportunity

Ashby Family Lawn & Landscapes is a veteran-owned, family-operated company serving the Statesville, Troutman, Mooresville, and Lake Norman areas. We are looking for an experienced, dependable lawn care professional who wants consistent work and an opportunity to grow with our company.

Starting Pay: $20 per hour

Job Type: Part-time with the potential for full-time hours

Hours will generally vary based on workload, season, and weather. Applicants should currently expect approximately 20–32 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours during peak periods. We are looking for someone interested in growing into a consistent, long-term position and potential team-lead role as the company expands.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding outdoor position. Applicants should understand that professional lawn care involves working in the North Carolina heat, staying productive throughout the day, and completing physically demanding tasks. We are looking for someone who is prepared for this type of work and wants to build a long-term position—not someone looking for occasional or temporary work.

The right employee may have the opportunity to advance into a team-lead position as our company grows. Increased responsibility and future pay growth will be based on reliability, skill, work quality, leadership, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and confidently operate stand-on commercial mowers
• Use commercial weed eaters, edgers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and other landscaping equipment
• Complete mowing, edging, weed eating, blowing, bush trimming, mulching, cleanups, and other landscaping projects
• Load, unload, clean, and properly care for company equipment
• Follow job instructions and safety procedures
• Work efficiently while maintaining our quality standards
• Communicate respectfully with customers and team members
• Arrive on time and consistently report for scheduled shifts

Requirements:

• Professional lawn care or landscaping experience
• Experience operating a stand-on commercial mower
• Familiarity with commercial lawn and landscaping equipment
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation to the designated meeting location
• Ability to work outdoors in heat and changing weather conditions
• Ability to lift and carry landscaping materials and equipment
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to take direction and work well with a small team
• Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment throughout the workday
