Sanctuary Barns and Grounds Caretaker

Sanctuary Barns and Grounds Caretakers are crucial, valued members at Asha’s Farm Sanctuary who are tasked with ensuring our Sanctuary residents have safe and healthy living environments. This position is a great fit for individuals who enjoy physical labor in an outdoor setting. Responsibilities focus primarily on barn and grounds cleaning – which is critical to the health and wellbeing of the animals in our care - but also may include general maintenance and repair, grounds keeping, and farm maintenance projects.

Responsibilities:

• Clean animal stalls, remove soiled bedding, and lay down fresh shavings.
• Clean animal grounds.
• Scrub water buckets, feed bowls, and pools.
• Wash windows, clean rafters, walls, and remove cobwebs from ceilings and walls.
• Pick up trash, clear pathways, and maintain neat outdoor areas around the sanctuary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities
• Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor and lifting (up to 60 lbs. regularly; team-lift heavier amounts regularly)
• Must be able to bend, lift, push, stoop, stretch, climb, and crawl and other strenuous activities.to maintain equipment and buildings
• Must be able to regularly perform work in a variety of weather conditions; almost all work is done in outdoor setting that is not climate controlled

Schedule & Availability:

• Shift Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (6-hour shifts)
• Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (18 hours total)
• Days: Flexible schedule; days vary weekly and can include weekdays or weekends.

• Matching 401(k) after 3 months probationary period
