The Ash Properties/Atlantic Self Storage portfolio requires skilled and reliable Journeyman Maintenance Technicians responsible for performing a wide range of repairs and preventative maintenance tasks across the facilities. Motivated individuals who take pride in their work, have strong attention to detail, communication skills, and carry themselves with a positive, can-do attitude are required. All members of the Maintenance Technician Team are comfortable working independently, but have a passion for making progress and completing work orders every day. This role is essential to ensuring our properties remain safe, clean, functional, and visually appealing for customers and staff alike.
The Journeyman Maintenance Technician will also be on-call for emergency repairs during scheduled and after-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, doors, gates, and general building systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance service requests, work orders, and emergency calls.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility components including doors, gates, lighting, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs.
- Communicate professionally with team members, managers, and vendors.
- Complete any and all other assigned duties.
- Maintenance workorder tracking system ownership - Consistently utilize the MaintainX system via mobile device as directed by leadership and management to receive, log, track, and complete all work orders, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks. Ensure all entries are completed accurately and in real time, including detailed notes, photos, and status updates. Meet assigned response times for each task to support operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with safety, quality, and documentation standards as monitored through the platform.

Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Journeyman License in a trade
- 5 years of experience in commercial general maintenance or skilled trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.)
- Experience with facility repairs such as roll-up doors, gates, locks, lighting, and painting
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to work on-call during evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders, in outdoor conditions, and in physically active roles.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
