Ash & Elm Play Studio is a warm, play-based preschool and community space that supports young children through exploration, creativity, and connection. We are seeking a kind, reliable, and energetic Preschool Teaching Assistant to support our classroom team.
This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young children, enjoys a collaborative environment, and is looking for a consistent part-time weekday schedule.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
- Supervise and engage children during play, transitions, meals, and rest times
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and preparation
- Model positive behavior and support children's social and emotional development
- Follow licensing, health, and safety guidelines
- Communicate respectfully with children, staff, and families
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children preferred (preschool or childcare)
- Patient, nurturing, and dependable
- Able to follow direction and work collaboratively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- ECE coursework a plus but not required
Compensation:
- $18–$21 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- Paid training and onboarding
- Opportunities for additional hours as enrollment grows
Schedule:
- Part-Time | 15–25 hours per week
