What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Process Analyst position at ASG Information Technologies?
ASG is a managed IT service provider based in Connecticut and we are building something different. We are investing heavily in an AI and Automations practice that helps our clients work smarter, cut waste, and actually use technology strategically. This is not a "maintain the status quo" kind of MSP.
We are looking for a Business Process Analyst who will work directly alongside our vCIO team and AI/Automations team to go deep with clients, map how their businesses actually run, and turn that into actionable roadmaps and real results. You will be part strategist, part analyst, part project driver. You will be in the room when decisions get made.
This role is not for someone who wants to sit behind a desk and build PowerPoints. It is for someone who likes talking to people, asking hard questions, finding the inefficiencies nobody wants to say out loud, and then building a plan to fix them. We have a platform built for this, too.
What you will do
- Go onsite and remote with clients to map their core business processes from end to end
- Identify automation and AI opportunities across client workflows and document them clearly
- Partner with our vCIOs to build 12-month AI and automation roadmaps tied to real business outcomes
- Participate in the sales and pre-sales process by helping scope engagements, present findings, and close new projects
- Run discovery calls, process audits, and stakeholder interviews with business owners and department leads
- Work with the AI/Automations team to hand off scoped work and stay involved through delivery
- Track pipeline, progress, and results on active engagements and help drive accountability on the client side
- Help us build and refine the frameworks and templates we use across all clients as the practice grows
What we are looking for
- 3 or more years in a business analyst, process improvement, consulting, or operations role
- Comfortable working directly with business owners and executives, not just IT teams
- Strong written and verbal communication — you can take something complex and make it simple
- Familiarity with process mapping tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or similar
- Working knowledge of AI and automation tools — you do not need to be a developer but you need to know enough to have smart conversations about what is possible
- Experience building roadmaps or project plans tied to business goals and ROI
- Organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple client engagements at once
- MSP or technology services experience is a plus but not required
Why ASG
- You will be part of building something new, not maintaining what already exists
- Direct access to leadership — we are a tight team and decisions happen fast
- Clients who are genuinely interested in evolving how they operate, not just keeping the lights on
- A company that is investing in AI seriously, not just using it as a buzzword
- Room to grow as the practice grows — this role has real upside
