Position Overview for DDD Onboarding and Training Specialist
ASG Home Care is seeking a highly experienced NJ DDD professional to serve as our Field-Based DDD Onboarding and Training Specialist. This is a senior-level, as-needed position responsible for onboarding and training family members and loved ones who are becoming Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) under the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
This role works directly with agency leadership and represents the agency in the field. The ideal candidate understands NJ DDD systems at the operational and compliance levels — not entry-level DSP experience — and is confident in guiding families through onboarding, training, and certification requirements.
This position starts on a per-need basis and is expected to grow into a larger role as case volume expands.
Core Responsibilities as a DDD Onboarding and Training Specialist
Conduct in-person onboarding sessions for family-hired DSPs across New Jersey
Educate families on NJ DDD Supports Program expectations and service documentation standards
Ensure all onboarding documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with NJ DDD requirements
Provide CPR & First Aid certification training as a certified instructor
Review policies, compliance standards, and expectations with newly hired family DSPs
Assist families in understanding EVV, service notes, and billing-related documentation
Serve as the agency’s field representative and maintain a professional presence
Communicate directly with leadership regarding onboarding status, compliance issues, and readiness to start services
Travel within assigned counties or statewide as needed
Required Qualifications for DDD Onboarding and Training Specialist
Minimum 3 years of higher-level NJ DDD experience (supervisory, compliance, program management, or similar)
Strong working knowledge of NJ DDD Supports Program and Medicaid service structure
CPR & First Aid Instructor Certification (active and in good standing) — required
Experience in onboarding or supervising DSPs
Strong documentation and compliance knowledge
Comfortable working independently in the field
Professional communication skills
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within New Jersey
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with EVV systems (HHAeXchange or similar)
Experience training or presenting to small groups
Experience supporting family-hired DSP models

$30–$40 per hour based on experience

This role is not entry-level. We are looking for someone who understands the NJ DDD system from a leadership and compliance perspective, can confidently train others, and can represent the agency professionally in families’ homes.
You should be comfortable operating independently, clearly guiding families, and ensuring all onboarding and training requirements are completed before services begin.
