What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at ASE?
We are assisting an ASE Member who is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead production operations within their rotary processing department. This role is responsible for driving productivity, quality, and safety across green end, clipping, and drying processes to maximize the value of raw materials.

What You’ll Do
- Lead daily production activities by reviewing schedules, prioritizing work, and coordinating operations
- Drive output, quality, and efficiency across production processes
- Collaborate with maintenance, procurement, and quality teams to optimize performance
- Monitor and analyze production data, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Ensure proper machine operation and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime
- Enforce safety policies and promote a strong safety-first culture
- Oversee timekeeping and approve employee time records
- Train, coach, and develop team members to improve performance and engagement
- Maintain knowledge of product specifications, grades, and customer requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Manufacturing experience required (wood/veneer industry preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working with equipment such as: Lathes, Debarker machines, excavators or similar heavy equipment
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive production results
- Comfortable working on the floor and troubleshooting equipment/process issues
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles preferred
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.)
- Ability to manage schedules, production data, and time approvals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain forklift certification
