Duties
- Operate snow plow trucks and related machinery safely and efficiently to clear snow from designated areas
- Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to changing snow accumulation levels
- Perform routine inspections of plow equipment, including mechanical components and safety features
- Assist with other winter maintenance tasks such as spreading salt or sand to prevent ice formation
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including routes covered and materials used
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding weather updates and operational needs
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during snow removal operations to prevent accidents
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of snow plow equipment, power tools, and hand tools
- Experience with landscaping, lawn care, or landscape maintenance is a plus
- Familiarity with construction sites or hardscape features is beneficial
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators or similar equipment is advantageous
- Knowledge of gardening, horticulture, tree care, and irrigation systems enhances versatility
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to snow plowing and equipment maintenance
